Greetings Engine Room family and friends! Such fine news have we. We are very pleased to announce the premiere of The Bloodsugars‘ new video Purpose Was Again, filmed in their hometown of Brooklyn. Featuring the boys floating around in a chalky-outer space with a special cameo from Iron Chef’s Mario Batali, “Purpose Was Again” is directed by Kristopher Schackman, while Lisa Labracil is to thanks for the animation. Engine Room is also excited to say that the video has debuted on Spinner, AOL’s music blog. Go here to view it!
I have for your enjoyment two pieces of news to update your lives with. This week Porter Block’s new TV ad begun airing on cable providers RCN and Verizon FIOS in NJ and NY! Features the band rocking out to a selection of tunes from “Off Our Shoulders”, so if you can’t catch it on TV be sure to check it out on their trusty MySpace page or on YouTube!

As a long-time fan of this band, I’m extremely happy to announce on behalf of everyone else at the Engine Room that we’ve just signed Brooklyn-based act Lowry to our label. Lowry’s unique brand of neo-folk is at its best in this gem of an album, which quietly takes you on a strangely beautiful journey you’ll be glad to repeat until the songs stay with you whether they’re playing or not. We expect digital distribution of their new album, Love Is Dead, in mid summer, and the record will be available in stores across the country by the fall.
And lucky you, you can catch them at the Mercury Lounge @ 10pm TONIGHT with Low Water at 9pm and Phonograph at 11pm.
