News :: New Signing: Middle Distance Runner!

Engine Room’s love affair with DC I guess wasn’t over after we signed U.S. Royalty, as now we’re very proud to welcome DC’s Middle Distance Runner to the family. We’ve been following this 5-piece for quite sometime and after hearing their follow up to 2006’s “Plane in Flames” we knew this was something special and had to get involved. The album is titled “The Sun & Earth” and will be released on October 20th…but you don’t have to wait until then to hear the songs, we’ll be streaming the album right from this site very soon. And you can also hear them live as the guys are heading off on their first National tour on August 4th, stops include dates in Pittsburgh, Chicago, Denver and LA’s famed Viper Room (complete list below)

U.S. Royalty is the newest band to join the Engine Room Recordings roster! We’re very excited to be working with these DC natives on the release of their EP “Midsommar” due out August 25th. It will be available digitally and on 7″ vinyl, which will also come with a digital download card. They’ll be playing a bunch of shows all summer (see dates below) including opening spots for Elvis Perkins and Tinted Windows. And tonight in NYC there’s a Free Show at The Studio at Webster Hall with Your Vegas, doors are at 8pm and US Royalty are up first. The guys put on an amazing live show, so if you’re in town hope to see you there!
