Hello and welcome to the latest edition of the Engine Room Recordings
Street Team Newsletter! Aren't you all so excited? Well you should
be because there are so many of you now it's just amazing. We have
more than doubled out numbers over the last few weeks and all of the
new additions have so much to offer that I know we must have the best
street team in the nation. Everyone else would be jealous if they
only knew about you lot.
So, last week I went to my first ever concert in New York, well first
time as an audience member and not as someone working. I saw
Revelation Theory and Evanescence at the Hammerstein and it was pretty
sweet. The venue had a really intimate atmosphere with a great crowd.
I think I was one of the oldest people there, which is weird cause
I'm not that old, but that's the way life goes.
Onto the news! Porter Block will now be releasing his album 'Suburban
Sprawl' on November 14th because we have added 3 acoustic songs as
well as DVD footage to it. That means we need to get to work. Online
promoters, let's get the word out about the changes to the album,
where it will be available and the new release daet. You can find it
at porterblockmusic.com, borders online, myspace.com/porterblockmusic,
amazon.com and itunes.com. So many options, it's just too easy.
Concert Promoters I should have already contacted many of you about
tomorrows CD Release party, which is still going to go on, and the
show this weekend in Jersey, but there is also a show next week in
Philly, another in New York and the beginning of November will bring
with it a short tour so be ready everyone. All Awareness Reps. in the
cities Porter Block is touring in (check the website for dates) should
let me know if they'd be interested in doing some audience-draw work.
If any shows are coming to your area that would have a similar crowd,
prior to the Porter Block show, let me know so I can get you flyers to
hand out. Be sure to say something along the lines of "if you like
(insert whatever band is playing) then you should check out this band.
They're coming (insert date) and you'll really like them." Feel free
to elaborate or change it completely.
Goat is also still hard at work. He has shows in New York, Jersey and
Philly coming up so, again, we will be needing promoters.
I'm calling a halt to calling AAA radio stations. It's ok to call
independent stations and college radio, in fact please do, but please
refrain from calling any of the AAA stations. I guess they actually
pull artists off the play list if they get calls because they know
it's a push or something. In any case, we don't want that so only
call independent stations, college stations and, the exception to the
AAA rule is if there is a cage match or something like that. Sweet
again.
CD Retailers I need you to get in contact with me and let me know how
your sales are going. If you haven't sold any don't worry, I won't be
upset, just let me know. Maybe I can help you come up with a plan of
action so that you can get the ball going. Once you figure out how to
sell them it will become easier. Otherwise, if you have sold some
then I need our share of the money ($7 per CD comes back to us) and
let me know if you would like to sell more so I can send some out to
you. I will typically send 6 at a time after the initial 4 are sold.
If you need more/less let me know and I will accommodate you. Maximum
Sweetness guys.
